Tutorial 05.02.2013 notes

Islington Square:  Integrated transport = growing community

Our basis for the design is the improvement of transport connections + revival of Islington as a destination
Intergrated transport terminal (bus + tram station with parking) that acts like a sponge
Creating a sense of arrival from all directions of approach to the Islington area of Liverpool
Connectivity of transport on a local + national scale;  Lime St, local bus routes, proposed tram service, cars, taxis, airports
An area designated for pedestrians

Density, e.g. 800 people - growth to 8000.  What are we proposing? An increase in density of the area will draw more shops to the area - examples?
What are the objectives that underpin the proposed estimate for future density?
Possibly explore the idea of 'great streets' - what is our idea of a 'great street'?
Percentage of footfall we are aiming for - 80%?
Landmarks - height?
What will the ratio of different uses be?
